One of the worst schools I have been involved with. There is poor communication with the administrative staff. As an example, I enrolled my daughter online, completed all paperwork prior to the start of the semester, and still had to wait in the school’s office for 2+ hours re-filling out documents because they could not locate my paperwork. The cherry on top was that they never reached out to my daughter’s previous school for info. The previous school called me on the first day of the semester to let me know they had to report my daughter as a “no show” at their school because CAE did not follow the correct process and so she did not “officially transfer”. I wish there was a better parent/student onboarding program for the school. They sell CAE really well PRIOR to enrolling, but afterwards there’s not clear information on how the school operates. Instead of selling me what you think I want to hear, lets be honest so I can make the best choice for my daughter’s education. My 2nd point is that CAE allows teachers to yell at the students. Just walking into/out of the schools, I can hear teachers yelling at their students. Not sure if the school mainly caters to children with behavioral issues but my daughter is not one of them and that info would have been nice to know a head of time. She’s never been exposed to yelling adults, cussing students, and student fights. Lastly, I’m surprised by the lack of homework received. I’m used to schools who provide at least a few pages a night but rarely saw anything come home from CAE.
Objectively the worst school! Out of the citizens academy brand. I feel If you want something to be different, MAKE IT DIFFERENT! Staff an absolute mess. They treated me with a degree of disrespect that you would not believe, until it actually happens to you. My son rides the school bus (1138) he was getting bullied on the bus the driver has written the individuals up who was bullying my son (who actually attends CLAE) multiple times and the driver shows me the write ups it took towards the end of the school year for that child to get suspended off of the bus and I get it you guys are just here to collect a check and need the children of 4 or more to ride the bus but if they aren’t listening to the driver and if they do get a suspension from the bus it’s only a few days then they are back to acting a fool. I’ve followed this bus a few times, the children were standing, walking the aisle the driver pulled over 10 times while I followed this particular day to gain control of the bus my child rode the bus since he started school and there have been 3 previous drivers that have driven this route sad. I get it the driver can do only so much it’s just only her we’re are the attendants? That Ms. Wanda Stallworth lady treated me like I was a absolute idiot, very rude the staff hates her honestly I talk to a few teachers. Very bitter lady.
The teaching styles are great my daughter is really excelling in this school she brings a lot of materials home. My daughter is 6 she’s also a very respectful child. Never in trouble. This is her second year at citizens academy east. The reason this school is getting 2 stars is because my daughter got hit by another student I requested to see the principal 3 times made an appointment also, I never spoke with her. There is no B.O.E to report to for situations like this so there’s really no one to hear your situation except the principal.
My daughter is is currently being bullied and called swear words by 1st graders and kindergarteners on the school bus and I have left over 7 messages for the staff member in charge of transportation. Over the past 2 weeks and I have never received a call back. Her bus is almost 30 mins late daily because the children yell out the windows they spit on each other and it’s hard for there bus driver to gain control. And in my situation I need my daughter to use transportation but she just told me she doesn’t feel safe on the bus.
If u have a very good and obedient child this may not be the school for them because the staff( and not all staff) are not accurate with the disciplinary policy’s that were promised. Both of her Teacher were AMAZING! True Blessings. ????
